While I was at the Ravens Roost #18 meeting last month Mr. Earl Barnes talked about how the food banks need our HELP. For some reason during my drive into the office today it came to mind again. I am not sure if its my sensitive side or if its the holiday spirit coming out in me, but I wanted to ask all members of RavenFan.com to give a little back to your community in any way you can. Spread the word to your friends and family to help in any way they can.
For the fortunate who have a roof over your head, food on your plate and a little change in your pocket, please give to the less fortunate during this time of need. During this holiday season think of the difference you can make by donating just a few items (food or clothing). Think of the smiles of the faces of each and everyone in need.
My son and ex-wife participate in a program called Operation Welcome Home Maryland. Volunteers have greeted over 250 flights and more than 60,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. Welcome Home Maryland has an event usually every week at BWI Airport. Volunteers help decorate the lobby with patriotic signs and banners. They also package “goodie bags” for the troops, many of whom are hungry, thirsty, and tired from their travels and will be waiting on a connecting flight.
Think about the people and families in need during the upcoming holiday season.
Happy Holidays
